Fort Worth, Apr 28 2024 - The City Council has authorized an agreement with All American Tire Recyclers for tire recycling and disposal services, amounting to $180,000 annually beginning October 1st. The Environmental Services Department initiated the move, seeking to equip the Purchasing Division with the necessary resources for the management of scrap tires.
According to the Environmental Services Department, "The Environmental Services Department approached the Purchasing Division to procure an agreement for tire recycling and disposal services to provide equipment, personnel and tools necessary to transport, process and recycle or dispose of scrap tires."
All American Tire Recyclers, a Fort Worth-based 100% green tire recycling facility, is set to handle the recycling operations. The company is known for its commitment to sustainability, as expressed by their focus on creating recycled rubber products that contribute to sustainable asphalt roads, green energy solutions, and various other recycled tire-derived products.
In Fort Worth, there is no curbside collection service for tires. However, residents have the option to drop off up to four passenger vehicle tires every six months at one of the four designated drop-off stations for free recycling or safe disposal.
