Keep Fort Worth Beautiful has been recognized for its outstanding efforts in environmental and community improvement as they were named a Gold Star Affiliate by Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), a well-known statewide grassroots organization. Achieving the Gold Star Affiliate status is the highest level of membership recognition for any community affiliate.
In 2023, KTB affiliates engaged over 32,000 volunteers in more than 500 cleanups, resulting in the collection of 3.7 million pounds of waste and recyclables from Texas roadways, trails, and waterways. Keep Fort Worth Beautiful's successful programs focus on cleaning up litter, waste reduction, recycling, and educating residents, all of which contribute to enhancing the local Fort Worth community.
Avery Pesek, a representative from Keep Fort Worth Beautiful, expressed pride in the organization's volunteers for their dedication to making Fort Worth a more beautiful place through their efforts in reducing litter, promoting recycling, and supporting the local environment.
To achieve Gold Star status, affiliates like Keep Fort Worth Beautiful must demonstrate strong organizational capabilities and community support. This recognition involves sharing their mission and goals, participating in various programs such as the Beautify Texas Awards or Governor’s Community Achievement Awards, and providing a letter of support from their community. The Gold Star communities will be officially acknowledged during the KTB Conference in June.
Keep Fort Worth Beautiful regularly hosts citywide cleanups, including events like the Cowtown Great American Cleanup and Neighborhood Litter Stomp, and actively engages with schools, nonprofits, businesses, and homeowners in community events and outreach initiatives.
The organization's commitment to creating a better living environment in Fort Worth has been highlighted through their Gold Star Affiliate status, showcasing their dedication to making the community a more beautiful and sustainable place for all residents.
