The Fourth of July is approaching, and the City of Fort Worth, along with the Fort Worth Fire and Fort Worth Police departments, aims to ensure residents' safety by reminding them that fireworks are illegal within city limits.

Enforcement strategies will vary depending on several factors. The Police Department will allocate additional resources working overtime in every patrol division during periods of increased illegal fireworks activities. Calls to the FWPD will be prioritized to ensure adequate resources are available for emergencies and high-priority service calls.

Fort Worth’s Fourth features one of North Texas's prominent fireworks displays. This marks the 17th year of celebrating Independence Day at Panther Island.

Event details:

- Date: Thursday, July 4

- Time: 5 p.m.

- Location: Panther Island Pavilion, 395 Purcey St.
