The City of Fort Worth Marshal Division Lake Patrol has announced a zero-tolerance policy on alcohol possession at city parks around Lake Worth. This decision follows an increase in alcohol-related violations at the park.

According to the authorities, the Lake Patrol will implement a high-visibility enforcement program focusing on alcohol violations through concentrated patrols. "Realizing that alcohol use is a leading factor in boating and water-related injuries, including drowning, the goal is to create a safe environment that everyone can enjoy at Lake Worth," said a spokesperson for the division.

City of Fort Worth Ordinance 24-17 makes it unlawful for any person to knowingly or willfully sell or possess alcohol within designated areas of parks, playgrounds, or athletic fields as specified by the Park & Recreation director. These areas are marked with signage indicating the prohibition of alcohol consumption, sale, or possession.

To inform visitors, signs will be posted advising that possessing alcohol in these parks is illegal and could result in fines up to $500.

Additionally, fireworks remain illegal in Fort Worth. The city encourages residents to report any illegal fireworks activities.

During the busy Independence Day holiday week, portable signage will be placed in Lake Worth-area parks to remind guests of these regulations.
