Fort Worth Municipal Court is organizing a Court in the Community/Warrant Forgiveness event on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon at William M. McDonald YMCA, located at 2701 Moresby St. Concurrently, community partners will host a back-to-school giveaway starting at 10 a.m., providing free backpacks and school supplies along with food trucks, activities, and games for families.

The event is aimed at individuals with outstanding citations from the Fort Worth Municipal Court. Attendees can address their cases without fear of arrest and may qualify for alternatives such as community service or fine reductions based on their ability to pay.

Up to 120 people can be seen on a first-come, first-served basis for Class C criminal cases like traffic violations, ordinance violations, and penal code violations.

Court Director William Rumuly stated, “I encourage anyone who has an outstanding citation with the Fort Worth Municipal Court to contact us immediately so we can provide options to move those cases to a final resolution.” He emphasized that the court operates as a Safe Harbor Court: “We do not arrest persons who come voluntarily to see us on their outstanding cases.”

For further information about this initiative or other court-related inquiries, individuals are encouraged to call 817-392-6700 during business hours.
